Morpeths Harrier Jonny Taylor finished in eighth place in the Men’s 3000m
at the televised IAAF Diamond League Grand Prix meeting, held at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium, on Sunday 5th June.
He posted a season’s best of 7m57.96s, behind Mo Farah of Newham and Essex Beagles, who won in a new lifetime best of 7m32.62s.
However, Taylor may not race again this summer due to him being badly attacked by
a dog whilst training near his Tees-side home, which has resulted in him sustaining serious injuries to his upper body and legs, enquiries are ongoing, and the club wish Jonny well, in what is hoped to be a full and speedy recovery.
