on Sunday 16th September 2018, over the longer distance of a Half Marathon.
He finished an excellent second in the EHM English Half Marathon,
in Warrington, Cheshire, posting a finishing time of 68m55s,
losing out for victory by eighty seconds to Hallamshire’s Steve Bayton.
It is the first time that McCormick has tackled the distance since 2012,
when he finished ninth in the Great North Run, posting a time of 62m44s.
That was also a month after he had competed in the 5000m at the London Olympic Games.
Nevertheless, it is heartening to see McCormick, who is now 37, back in
competitive action, and wearing his club colours with pride again.
