helped King Edward VI Intermediate Boys (Under 15) to fifteenth place
at the English Schools Cross Country National Cup Final,
held at Range High School, in Formby, Lancashire on Saturday 3rd December.
They were led home by Daniel Dixon, who had a superb individual run
to finish a well accomplished third behind Cornwall’s Harris Mier
and Northampton’s Adam Caulfield, both respective County Champions of a high order.
Dixon finished eighteen and seven seconds adrift respectively,
and helped his school to finish third from the North of England,
and first of the two North East Schools, the other being
Royal Grammar School of Newcastle, who finished in 22nd team place.
Further scoring counts for King Edward came from Ross Charlton who ran very well to finish 22nd,
Thomas Cunningham (91st), and Brad Brown (120th).
Another Morpeth Harrier in action for King Edward was Sam Bradley, who finished in 130th place.
The Intermediate Boys Team title went to The Judd School, from Tonbridge in Kent,
and second and third team places went to Dr Challoner’s Grammar School
from Amersham in Buckinghamshire,
and Royal Grammar School from Guildford in Surrey respectively.
