He was competing in the British Modern Biathlon Championships in Solihull, near Birmingham on Sunday 30th November, where he finished 20th out of 32 finalists in the Under 14 Boys section. Representing King Edward School, he finished 32nd in the 100m swim, where he was only a second adrift of his best with his time of 80.20s, where he amassed 856points. However it was the 1600m run in atrocious weather conditions, where he finished second in a time of 5m14.79s, where he scored 1277 points, bringing his overall grand total to 2133pts, giving him his final placing. Without pausing for breath he was back in the classroom on Monday morning, and training with his club colleagues at their training session on Monday evening. He was also encouraged and supported in all of his weekend activities by his father John, who was also in the middle of celebrating his 50th Birthday, We are sure he felt Ross brought him his best present of all with his excellent performances.
