Tom Innes was first Morpeth Harrier home at the Fell ‘em Doon Woodlands 10k
at Ashington last Wednesday (31st July 2019). Second overall in the race behind David Green of North Shields Polytechnic Harriers, Innes clocked 35m 56s. Not too far behind him was clubmate Mark Snowball, 4th in 37m 33s. Other Morpeth finishers included: 15th 45m 8s Iain Katz, 24th Bill Tilley 47m 39s and 31st Kenton Duffield 39m 49s. Grand Prix Meeting, held at Jarrow’s Monkton Stadium on the evening of Monday 29th July 2019. Jason Dawson produced a new personal best of 2m19.4s in the seventh race of 800m events, and Michelle Thompson clocked 2m43.4s in the sixth run race. Dawson won the Over 45 Men’s category in the season long Grand Prix for his efforts. Three athletes from Morpeth Harriers took part in the fourth and final BMC Regional meeting,
held on the evening of Thursday 1st August 2019 at Leeds Becket University. All events were held over a 1500m distance, Phil Winkler took part in the A race and finished in 4m07.78, and Adam Pratt, who had competed at the England Athletics Championships in Manchester a few days previous, produced a new personal best of 4m02.23s, when finishing second to Wakefield’s Matt Hill in a talent filled C Race. Hill clocked 4m02.13s, and Pratt took two seconds off his previous best, which he had achieved at Chester Le Street in July. Morpeth’s other competing athlete was Rhiannon Hedley, who was fourth fastest Under 17 Woman, when she posted 4m57.77s in a mixed gender H Race. |
