Several Morpeth Harriers took part in the Fell-Em-Doon 5k Trail Race,
held at Woodhorn, Ashington, on Sunday 10th December 2017 and organised by Ashington Hirst Running Club. The event was won by Kurt Heron from the host club, who posted a time of 15m59s, winning by the slender margin of two seconds from Morpeth’s Sam Hancox. Alistair Douglass, also from Morpeth, who finished third in 17m25s, had run at Redcar the previous day. Fourth place went to Mark Snowball of Morpeth, who posted a time of 17m52s. Not far behind Mark in fifth place, was club colleague Colin Archer, who finished in 18m03s. Finishing eleventh in 18m52s, was Morpeth’s Rob Hancox, who was third Over 50 Veteran Man. In sixteenth place was Paul Banks, who posted a time of 19m31s. Finishing 21st in 20m59s was Morpeth’s Helen King, who won the Women’s race. Helen had also been part of her clubs’ Silver Medal winning Women’s squad at Redcar the previous day.
